In Egypt, the whole archaeological world, and all the tourism that it creates, rests on the shoulders of local diggers. Any western archaeologist that wants to succeed, has to hire a local team of diggers to get the actual digging done proper and accurately. They know the field and can recognize a piece of sarcophage in the middle of a rubble mountain from a 10m distance. With this portrait serie I want to take a close look at those who do the dirty job. Those whose names are never on the news when a fabulous treasure is found. I like to call them HISTORY SEEKERS, for this is what they do: find pieces of History. A book was published in 2006 by Blur Ediciones.
